Kodak Professional digital cameras (3060x2036 pixel sensor array) are being used to obtain Visable RGB (model DCS460c) and Near-Infrared (model DSC460ir, panchromatic detector with Kodak Wratten #88A filter) imagery of Impregnated soil blocks and soil thin sections. Kodak Wratten Filters (#29, 61, and 46) are used to improve RGB spectral resolution in imagery. Using appropriate lenes, spatial resolutions of 10 to 25 microns is possible. |

Transmitted light imagery of soil thin sectios is optained using a Fostec ACEI cold lamp. Edmonds Scientific 10% polarization sheets are used to provide both plane and circular polarizes illuminization. |
| Reflected light imagery of polished, resin-impregnated, soil blocks as well as soil thin sections are obtained using either fluorescent or tungsten lamps for surface illumination. | |
