Currently, imagery of the Canadian Soil Thin Section collection is organized according to the Canadian System of Soil Classification. Images of sections from a given profile are presented together. Typically, on-line imagery includes reflected light, as well as plane and circular-polarized transmitted light. Relevant cross-referencing is provided for each figure and, where available, linkage to ancillary information is made. Images of sections from the Congress of the International Society of Soil Science (Edmonton, 1978) are also linked to relevant except from the Field Tourbooks.

Eventually, it is envisage that broad searches of the collection will be possible based on a variety of criteria including classification, geographic location as well as selected features of the sections.
